Talk Title:

Dr. Sinéad Kinsella is a Lecturer and Principal Investigator at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Sinéad completed her PhD in neuroimmunology at RCSI and carried out postdoctoral research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle USA, where she focused on identifying molecular targets to enhance T cell reconstitution using preclinical models of thymic damage including age, acute radiation exposure and chemotherapy. During this time Sinéad was received a New Investigator Award from the American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapies and identified several therapeutic strategies to enhance thymic regeneration after damage. Sinéad later obtained a Senior Staff Scientist position in the Translational Sciences and Therapeutics Division at the Fred Hutch where she focused on enhancing TCR therapies in the solid tumour, specially focusing on strategies to limit immunosuppression and enhance adoptive cell therapy, and obtained competitive NIH funding for this work. Sinéad returned to Ireland in 2026 to establish a T cell therapies research group at RCSI.
